Hensall Co-op Awards $15,000 in Bright Futures Scholarships to Six Outstanding Students


Hensall Co-op, together with its Board of Directors and employees, is proud to announce the recipients of the fourth annual Bright Futures Scholarship. This year, six students from across Southwestern Ontario have been awarded a combined $15,000 to support their post-secondary studies.


“On behalf of Hensall Co-op, I am honoured to congratulate this year’s Bright Futures Scholarship recipients,” said Brad Chandler, CEO of Hensall Co-op. “The number of outstanding applications was truly inspiring and reflects how deeply education is valued in our rural communities. We are proud to support these remarkable students and invest in the next generation of leaders.”


2025 Bright Futures Scholarship Recipients
  • Aaron Feddes (Goderich, ON) – Attending Lakehead University (AB) for Animal Science Technology: Dairy Science Major. “Growing up on the farm has given me a strong passion for agriculture and hands-on experience with dairy production. I enjoy working on our family farm and look forward to a career in dairy farming.”
  • Jack Van Loon (Dublin, ON) – Attending the University of Guelph for Food and Agricultural Business. “It means the world to me to be selected for this scholarship and serves as a reminder of the value of hard work and dedication. I am deeply grateful for this recognition.”
  • Julie Wein (Exeter, ON) – Attending Wilfrid Laurier University for a Bachelor of Science, Honours Health Science. Julie aspires to pursue a career in medicine and says she hopes “to take a leadership role in bringing equal health outcomes to rural communities.”
  • Kyle Dodge (Strathroy, ON) – Attending Western University for Electrical Engineering. “Farming is constantly seeing the benefits of advances in technology and artificial intelligence, and I wish to help innovate in this field with the skills I gain from my education.”
  • Nicole McBride (Exeter, ON) – Attending Olds College (AB) for a Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness. A former Hensall Co-op summer intern, Nicole looks forward to “building a career that contributes to sustainability and growth within the agricultural community.”
  • Owen Littlejon (St. Mary’s, ON) – Attending Western University for Food and Agricultural Business. “I am excited to start my university career with the hopes of getting into medicine so I can bring back my knowledge and apply it to support my community.”
