Hensall Co-op is seeking a reliable individual to become an integral member of our team! This position is full time, working out of the Hensall location. The Propane Service Technician is responsible for providing all hands-on service to customers including the installing, repairing, delivering, picking up, and maintaining energy tanks and equipment.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain parts inventory to ensure that all necessary tools and parts are available when needed.
  • Respond to service calls for customers in need of repairs, servicing, or upgrades on energy equipment.
  • Ensure that all work areas are always kept clean and tidy, and that customer locations are cleaned up after the job is complete.
  • Maintain workflow as it applies to scheduled daily service calls and complete work orders.
  • Respond to after-hours service calls when on-call.
  • Follow daily work instructions to ensure that all service calls are prioritized and completed according to schedule.
  • Understand and keep up to date on all relevant legislation and regulations as they pertain to the propane industry.
  • Complete all required documentation and paperwork, and file appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to Propane Service Lead Technician or Manager in a timely manner.
  • Provide general maintenance to energy equipment on site and follow all Preventative Maintenance schedules.

 

Job Requirements:
  • General mechanical/maintenance skills
  • Ability to perform manual labour for hours at a time
  • Basic mathematical and numeracy skills
  • Knowledge of the propane and agricultural industry
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Time management skills and ability to follow a schedule

 

Required Qualifications:
  • Successful candidate possesses a G2 Gas License
  • 2+ years of experience in the energy industry is preferred.
  • Valid G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • LP License would be considered an asset
