Hensall Co-op is seeking a dynamic individual to become an integral member of our team! The Grain Trader Associate is full-time, responsible for assisting in the purchasing and selling of commodities in conjunction with our Grain Traders. This role would be working out of the Hensall location.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Grain Traders with the purchasing and selling of grain and feed ingredients
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end-users and suppliers
• Maintain active knowledge of market trends, economic conditions and factors affecting the agricultural market
• Assist with preparing cash settlements for producers and suppliers
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating the logistics of delivery
• Monitor and manage trade positions to optimize profitability and minimize risks
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of transactions with producers, suppliers, and customers
• Generate reports and analysis to track trading performance and market trends
• Attend industry conferences and workshops to enhance skills and overall industry knowledge
• Understand and follow all HC health and safety and environmental policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned

• Strong agricultural cropping background
• Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, etc
• Strong business acumen

Required Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education in an agricultural or business-related program
• Several years of experience in ag-retail and/or sales preferred
• Must have a valid G Driver’s License
